WATCH: Disney Releases Trailer For ‘Hamilton’ Movie

Disney has just released the trailer for Lin Manuel Miranda’s hit musical, Hamilton.

In February Disney announced that a big-screen version of the musical would be released in cinemas in 2021.

In May the studio announced that it would be released a year early on their streaming service, Disney+.

On Sunday they released the trailer for the movie which will be available on the service from Friday, 3 July.

The film is a live performance of the show at New York’s Richard Rodgers Theatre that comprised the original cast.

According to Variety, Disney paid $75 million for the rights to the musical.

The musical which made its debut on Broadway in August 2015 features hip-hop, jazz and R&B and tells the story of American founding father, Alexander Hamilton.

The show won 11 Tony Awards in 2016 and the Pulitzer Prize for drama.
