Veteran Hong Kong actor Simon Yam was stabbed while attending a media event.
According to reports, Yam was attending an event in southern China on Saturday when the attack occurred.
His manager, Lester Mo said that the actor suffered injuries that are not life-threatening. Yam was stabbed in the stomach and also had a cut on his right hand.
Trending Weiboo released a statement on Twitter following the attack.
“Yam walked away bleeding from an apparent stab wound to the abdomen. The attacker was apprehended by police. A representative for Yam tells media that the actor is stable, the wound has been cleaned.”
The motive behind the attack is not yet known.
Police confirmed that a suspect has been arrested.
