Tanzania Film Board Lifts Ban on Actress, Wema Sepetu’s Over Explicit Video

The Former Miss Tanzania and popular Bongo actress Wema Sepetu is free to make films and act once more after the Tanzania Film Board lifted a ban imposed in October 2018.

The ban was implemented after an explicit video of the actress made waves on social media, a move termed by the board as a disgrace to the industry.

The actress was banned from making any films within the country and even though she issued an apology, it was not heeded by the board.

Joyce Fissoo, The Film Board representative explained that the ban was lifted on the basis of an agreement between them and the actress and that she had satisfied 75% of the requirements they had put out.

The actress was happy and vowed not to repeat the same.

The action of the board serves as a warning to other artists not to share sexual or explicit content on social media or face stern action.

In June 2018, Singer Nandy was also summoned by the police after a steamy bedroom video of her and singer Billnass was leaked. She took to social media to ask her fans and family for forgiveness.
