The Ugandan singer Iryn Namubiru has said she is alive but still traumatized after surviving Saturday’s Lake Victoria boat tragedy in Uganda.
“I would like to thank all of you who have reached out to me. By God’s grace I am still alive, safe and getting medical attention but so traumatized. My deepest thoughts to our comrades who didn’t make it and condolences to the bereaved families. What can I say? GOD,” the 36-year-old singer tweeted Sunday morning.
Reports had suggested that she was among those who died after the boat capsized in Mpatta Sub-county, Mukono district.
There were close to 100 people who were on the ill-fated vessel at the time of the accident in which at least 30 have been confirmed dead. Police managed to rescue 26 people.
