Luweero Woman Member of Parliament, Ms Lillian Nakate has looked for police assurance after a letter cautioning of an approaching assault on her family was dropped at her home in Bukalasa town in Wobulenzi Town Council.
The unknown creators of the letter put the family on see for a pending assault focusing on the MP, her two kids and her mom.
They debilitated to murder them and take their body parts. Comparative letters were dropped in the area on Tuesday.
Ms Nakate says the family is living in fear and that her mom has since quit planting due to the dangers.
Ms Nakate has tasked Luweero District Police Commander, Mr Benson Byaruhanga to explain how anonymous letters are endlessly circulated in the area.
Ms Nakate says she can’t treat the letters as mere threats in a wake of the gruesome murder of a 12-year-old girl in the same area.
Luweero District Police commander, Mr Benson Byaruhanga says Police have made some arrests and are still investigating the matter before taking the suspects to court.
He, however, asked Ms Nakate to be calm because preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects only wanted to create fear in the MP’s family.
Recently, unknown persons dropped letters to a number of families in Kizito and Kasoma zones in Luweero town threatening to kidnap them.
In the letters, the authors asked each targeted resident to wire Shs300,000 on 0770587814 if they wanted to save their members from possible kidnap.
Ms Beat-Juma Nassanga, a resident of Lumu zone in Luweero town is among the people who found the anonymous letters at the doorsteps of her house and reported the matter to Police.
Ms Nassanga says she has since put her children under close supervision.
Last year, several people were killed and injured while others were robbed in the greater Masaka area days after anonymous letters were dropped at their homes and business premises warning them of impending attacks.
