Anthony Joshua was accused by Khan of having a relationship with his wife after their recent break-up and posted a series of alleged messages between the boxer and Ms Khan on Twitter.

Amir Khan has attempted to reconcile himself with Anthony Joshua after admitting that initial accusations of an extramarital affair between his wife, Faryal Makhdoom Khan, and the heavyweight British boxer were “all lies”.

The 30-year-old accused Joshua last week of having a relationship with his wife after their recent break-up and posted a series of alleged messages between the boxer and Ms Khan on Twitter.

Joshua was quick to deny the claims, posting a video of Shaggy’s hit song It Wasn’t Me in response. Amir then retweeted his wife’s note, then personally messaged Joshua, adding: ‘Glad all is cleared up and all lies. I got angry like any man would. No truth to it. Good to know. All the best.’ .

The British heavyweight champion would later reply to Khan, writing: ‘Apology accepted.’ In another tweet, Amir added: ‘I partied in Dubai with friends to get my wife angry. Shouldn’t have. That’s not like me and I’ll prove that.’ .

The former boxing champion then tweeted his intention to ‘leave Faryal’ as the relationship had ‘become unhealthy’, but he deleted the message shortly after.
