Morocco’s King Mohammed VI held a phone conversation with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday said a statement by the Royal Office, according to a report by the Maghreb Arabe Presse (Rabat).
King Mohammed VI enquired about Buhari’s health and voiced satisfaction at his improvement, the Nigerian President has been in London for six weeks on medical leave.
The two leaders also discussed the Morocco – Nigeria Atlantic crude oil pipeline and looked at the upcoming stages of the project.
The King thanked the Nigerian President for the support in returning Morocco to the African Union and notified him of Morocco’s request to join the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). His Royal majesty expressed his intentions to His Excellency to make the Rabat-Abuja strategic partnership a framework for consultation and cooperation on all African issues.
