Zimbabwe Media Mogul Fears For His Life

Zimbabwean business and media mogul Trevor Ncube has claimed that he fears for his life after mysterious visits to his Harare home by suspected members of military intelligence over the past two weeks, reportedNewsDay on Wednesday.

On his Facebook page, Ncube wrote that he had opened a case against the unidentified men, adding that preliminary indications were that the car that was used by the suspected men belonged to military intelligence.

In another  Facebook post, he claimed that on Wednesday last week two unknown men visited his home for the second time after they had not found him at home the previous weekend.

According to a previous NewsDay report, a relative of Ncube claimed that one of the suspects was wearing a military uniform, and demanded to know who owned the property, before taking a tour of the chicken project run at the house.

“They were not friendly at all, asking a lot of questions, demanding to know the owner of the property and insisted they wanted to tour our chicken project. But, we refused for security reasons,” the unidentified staffer was quoted as saying.

Ncube is a staunch supporter of exiled pastor Evan Mawarire, who galvanised Zimbabweans to speak up against President Robert Mugabe’s government.

He is a vocal supporter of the citizen’s movement dubbed #ThisFlag.
