Abuja – Former Minister of National Planning, Suleiman Abubakar has predicted even more hardship for Nigerians under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, predicting that the country was headed for anarchy.

Abubakar criticised the apparent lack of respect that the Buhari administration was showing the judicial arm of the government.

“I support Buhari’s intent to fight corruption. But I am against the methodology. I am against the procedures he is adopting.

The agencies he is using to fight corruption were set up by the Peoples Democratic Party government. Obasanjo lost his credibility in fighting corruption because he used the anti-graft agencies to persecute opposition members,” he said.

The former minister claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was now being used as an arm of the government to wipe out opposition leaders.

News24 Nigeria reported that President Buhari has vowed to crush anyone standing in the way of his fight against corruption in Nigeria, saying that those found guilty would soon be dealt with.

Buhari said that he was as committed as ever in the anti-corruption fight and that no social campaign against him would deter him from this.

This could be a seen as a message to Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose who recently lashed out at President Buhari, accusing him of running a “government within a government”.
