The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reported the seizure of 29 properties belonging to former Chief of Air Staff Adesola Amosu, former Chief of Budgeting for the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Jacob Adigun and former Budget Director Olugbenga Gbadebo.
According to a Punch report, the properties include 3 plazas, 6 mansions, a quarry, a hospital, a block of flats, farms, a school, two hotels, some uncompleted buildings and a few plots of land.
A source at the EFCC has revealed that the properties have been seized temporarily pending the outcome of court proceedings.
The three former Air Force officials were arraigned last week by the EFCC over their alleged involvement in the diversion of funds amounting to N21 billion in 2014.
In addition, the three men may face additional charges relating to the awarding of phantom contracts to companies affiliated with them, Naij reports.
The EFCC has stated that it has based its investigation on the alleged diversion of N558 million and various other funds allocated to the Nigerian Air Force for the purchase of arms, fighter jets and other equipment.
