A 70-year-old woman has actually been killed in Edo State in strange conditions.
It was a shocking sight when residents discovered the body of a 70-year-old woman who was slaughterer by unknown assailants in her home located on Oseye Street, off Upper Sokponba Road, Benin City, Edo State, The Nation reports.
It was gathered that the woman, identified as Betsy Egbeobamwonyi, was found dead in her room with her throat sliced, after she had been stabbed severally. The woman’s body was found beside her four-year-old grandson on her bed.
One of the deceased’s daughters who gave her name asDorothy, said the family was still in shock over the killing as no one could fathom the rationale behind the gruesome murder of the old woman.
“We don’t know who killed our mother. We don’t know who she offended. She is the landlady of the house. The day before she was killed, I bought things for her only to be told that she was killed the next day,” Dorothy said.
