Late Stephen Keshi’s Son Says Burial Date For His Father Is Not Yet Fixed

Lagos – The first son of late former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has actually rejected reported funeral plan of his father.

Stephen Keshi Jnr said the family has not fixed a date yet for the burial of the late AFCON 2013 winner.

“I just came into Nigeria on Tuesday night, and we read in the papers today that somebody has fixed a date for the burial. I am shocked like my sisters and my brothers. Since our father died, nobody has spoken to us about how he died, and we have not even seen his corpse. Yet, someone is fixing a date for his burial!” he said in a press statement made available to News24.

News24 reported that the 27-year-old, including Keshi’s daughter, Ifeyinwa and husband, who are based in North Carolina, USA have flown into Nigeria on Tuesday for the burial arrangements.

Keshi died of a reported cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday June 8, 2016, a day he was due to travel out of the country
