Lobby Group Calls For Resignation Of NCIC Commissioners

Human rights lobby group, Haki Africa has called for resignation of commissioners of the National and Integration Commission (NCIC) alleging that they have failed to deliver.

In a press release sent to media on Tuesday, Haki Africa executive director Hussein Khalid said the commission led by Francis Ole Kaparo has failed to ensure cohesion and integration.

He noted that the commission cannot be trusted to bring to book those who make inciting remarks especially politicians who have been spreading hate speech cross the country.

“In what appears to be the toothless barking of a dog, it seems as if politicians are beating the drums of war yet the commission is only giving statements.

“As an organization, HAKI Africa believes the NCIC has failed to do its work in particular ensuring that politicians adhere to chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya on integrity,’’ read the press release in part.

This comes as six legislators led by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria, Suna East’s Junet Mohammed and Machakos senator Johnston Muthama on Tuesday recorded statements with Criminal Investigations Department CID for allegedly making inflammatory remarks.
