Four Kenyans have been sentenced to life imprisonment in South Sudan for stealing KES 1.4 billion from President Salva Kiir’s office.
The four were among 16 people who were arrested on Monday for forging the signatures of the President and those of other government officials with intend to loot.
The money was withdrawn from the country’s Central Bank as well as the President’s bank accounts between 2013 and 2015, according to reports.
Among those convicted also include President Kiir’s close aides and an employee of the Central Bank, Nyamile.com reports.
