TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo has said they will support removal of the IEBC bosses should the Opposition provide strong evidence on their incapacities to perform their duties.
Oloo said Cord must be able to prove their discontent with performance of the commissioners by way of the law.
He said their push for their removal is a complete illegality since it fails to adhere to provisions of the Constitution.
“As Jubilee Coalition,we have not had facts and evidence strong enough to show that these people are not capable of performing their duties as per the law established,” said Oloo on Sunday during the KTN’s CheckPoint.
“But should it be tabled,Kenya is greater than Cord or Jubilee,we will duly support the call(for their removal),” he added.
Oloo was responding to claims by Homabay’s Senator Moses Kajwang that the government was protecting the IEBC bosses.
Kajwang said Jubilee Coalition was being dogmatic in the way it was handling the issue by referring to the Constitution when it had broken the same law in addressing other matters.
“When it came to EACC which is a constitutional commission according to Article 79 of the Constitution, they threatened the commissioners,they promised them positions of ambassadors.They literally kicked them out of office,” he said.
“They talk about the Constitution when it best suits them and when it does not,they don’t talk about it,” he added.
