Niger Delta Avengers Deny Killing Soldiers In Bayelsa

MILITANT

Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has denied involvement in the deadly attack of a military houseboat around Warri, Delta State on Wednesday.

Two soldiers and five civilians were killed during the incident in Ejere creek, an Itsekiri enclave in Warri South Local Government Area.

NDA denied taking part.

“Killing of sleeping soldiers is not our style,” the group stated flamboyantly.

“We promise the world that in this process of liberating our people, not a single blood of Nigeria soldiers will be wasted despite the provocation.”

The militants said even the “inhumane” Nigeria soldiers were exempted.

“Our war is on oil installations not to take innocent lives. For the fact we can’t give life, we also don’t have the power to take any life. But we
(Avengers) are assuring the families of the affected soldiers that we will bring the culprits to book.”

The group said there was a possibility some militants were parading themselves as NDA.

“We are warning every group to follow our footsteps. The days of killing and kidnapping are over.”

Threats by the militant group to kill President Muhammadu Buhari if he visited the region were cited as the reason he postponed his participation in the launch of the Ogoni cleanup exercise on Thursday.
