Outrage As Injured Cops Undergo Treatment At Nairobi West Hospital.

The government’s move to airlift officers injured in Monday’s CORD demos to Nairobi for treatment has enraged Kenyans.

The police officers who were allegedly injured by violent protesters in Kisumu and Siaya arrived at Wilson airport Tuesday evening.

Police had earlier raised concerns that “a mob with catapults” had attacked them, forcing the officers to open fire in self defense.

Three people died in the confrontation and scores others injured, with police maintaining that they won’t apologise for the tragic outcome.

The Interior PS, Karanja Kibicho, said that a total of 30 officers were injured, but only 10 were airlifted to Nairobi for treatment on Tuesday.

This has enraged Kenyans who say the government should also take responsibility for the deaths reported.

A human rights activist has also announced that the cops are undergoing treatment at the Nairobi West hospital instead of the Forces Memorial hospital, raising further controversy.
