INEC Vows To Conduct Credible Polls In Edo

The Edo State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restated its commitment to free, fair and violence-free governorship elections in the state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Sam Olumekun, made the statement during a visit to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, Uhogua.

He said he was on a tour of the IDPs camp to identify eligible voters, in order to ensure everyone was given equal opportunity to exercise their franchise.

He stated that the commission would soon commence continuous voter registration exercise to enable persons that have attain the age of 18 since the last election participate in the elections.

The Edo governorship election is scheduled to hold on September 10
