Former President Mwai Kibaki is expected to visit his home in Kanyange village in Othaya on Thursday to identify the site where his late wife, Lucy Kibaki will be buried.
He will be accompanied by close family members including his children.
The grave will be privately dug on Friday.
According to County Commissioner, Onesmus Musyoki, Nairobi organizing committee will join the Nyeri organizing committee to the homestead.
Othaya-Kanyange road is being re-carpeted ahead of the burial which is scheduled to take place Saturday.
Security has being beefed up in the village by officers from the GSU, KDF, AP and regular police.
NYS servicemen are clearing the bushes along the road leading to the home, preparing the field and cleaning Othaya town.
A tent to host more than 1,000 dignitaries has been set up in the Othaya Approved grounds.
Vehicles and choppers will be parked at Othaya Boys High School and other neighbouring schools including Munaini and Gatuyaini primary schools.
NYS servicemen are draining out flood water at the Othaya stadium to create more space.
