Six individuals were been afraid of dead on Wednesday adhering to a scuffle in between 2 males defending a lady in the Kaduna state.
According to Punch, eyewitnesses said the problem started when a man from a neighboluring Kwaru community came to visit his “girlfriend” in Unguwar Yero. The woman also happened to be a wife of a man in that area.
“The woman was the girlfriend of the Kwaru man, who used to give her money when they were dating. But the lady in question married another person. But after their marriage, the lady and her ex-boyfriend were still dating,” one of the witnesses was quoted as saying.
The two met as usual, but the husband, who already suspected his wife, followed her to where they were standing. When he accosted them, the Kwaru man stabbed his concubine’s husband in the stomach.
The man died before he could be taken to hospital.
It was when Governor Nasir el-Rufai visited the place and asked people to be calm without taking action to bring the culprit to book, that people started attacking those suspected to be Hausa Muslim, the report said.
Several gunshots were fired into the air, resulting in the death of at least six people.
Police confirmed the incident.
