President Uhuru Kenyatta has rewarded the Kenya Sevens rugby team with KES 10 million personal donation for their exploits in Singapore.

The President, speaking after meeting the team at State House Nairobi said that the Sevens players had brought undoubted joy to the country and that the donation was the least he could do to say thank you.

He met the players at State House Nairobi Thursday.

He apologized for not seeing them earlier in the week and told them that they are welcome to visit him at any time as a way of saying sorry.

” I am sorry I was not here earlier but that should not be a problem. You are welcome any time,” he stated.

The Sevens boys made history last week by winning their first ever cup final in the HSBC Sevens Series in 115 attempts.
