Three men were shot dead after a failed robbery attempt in Nairobi on Monday evening.

According to The Star said police also recovered Sh55 000 that they had stolen from a local businessman on route to the bank.

The police were able to intercept the trio in Utawala area.

Since police have intensified police operations in the city they have intercepted several robbery attempts in the Capital.

Meanwhile a raid on University of Nairobi’s Hall 9 over the weekend led to the recovery of drugs and bloodstained knives believed to have been used in the recent violence following the disputed SONU election.

The operation was in response to claims by the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) chair, John Mututho that there existed a drug cartel in the University.
