DP William Ruto says that justice has prevailed in his ICC trial after the court dismissed his crimes against humanity charges as null and void.
The trial judges stated Tuesday evening that the cases facing Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang were not supported by enough evidence and that they had no case to answer.
Ruto was left pleased with the verdict.
” The verdict completes six years of heartache for my family, friends and Kenyans but God has had his way and at last the truth has prevailed,” he said at his Nairobi home Tuesday evening.
” That the case has ended now means that the country can concentrate on healing and righting the wrongs of the past and improving the state of the country,” he added.
The DP did not head to the ICC as the court stated that it would deliver its ruling on a no case to answer motion via written communication.
