Members of parliament and those of the county assembly from Nakuru county have been accused accused of influencing the police recruitment exercise in Nakuru town.
Some of the recruits who failed the exercise claimed that politicians brought their own people at the venue.
“MCA’s have been roaming around here and we know they brought their own people and those are the ones who have been recruited here,” said Anne Awiti who was turned away.
The officer in charge of the recruitment, Peter Macharia dismissed the allegations saying that politicians were there as observes and did not influence the exercise .
“Just like any other Kenyan the politicians had a right to attend the exercise as observes and they did not influence the process in anyway,” he said.
“The people we selected were selected on merit and not because they were brought by any politician,” he added.
