Striking medical doctors in Osun State have suspended their seven-month-old industrial action.
The striking medical doctors under the aegis of Association of Medical and Dental Officers suspended the strike on Sunday.
The doctors had gone on strike over the non-remittance of their cooperative and contributory deductions from their salaries and non-payment of salaries by the state government.
Chairman of the association, Isiaka Adekunle, said their decision to resume work was in response to appeals from residents despite the fact that the government was yet to meet any of group’s demands.
He said the association would continue to dialogue with the government.
Adekunle appealed to the government to keep to its promises by not victimising its members who participated in the strike.
