The United States has acknowledged challenges faced by Nigeria but has told President Muhammadu Buhari that building the country up will not be an easy task.
According to a Punch report, US Secretary of State, John Kerry, made his utterances at the 4th Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, saying that America wanted Nigeria to succeed.
“You know there are challenges. That’s what your election was about. And so we are all aware that the world right now is facing many different challenges in terms of governance in various parts of the world and for various reasons: absence of capital, absence of structure, having to build capacity,” Kerry was quoted as saying.
According to Kerry, the future of Nigeria lies firmly in the hands of Nigerian citizens. He claimed that the US is also willing to help.
