Kenya: MP Beaten Up By KANU Supporters

A Member of Parliament from Kericho County is nursing injuries after allegedly being attacked by KANU supporters.

Bureti MP, Leonard Sang says the group attacked him in Litein last Friday during campaigns for the just concluded Kericho Senatorial by-election.

According to The Star, Sang sustained injuries on the neck and is undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

In the election that was conducted on Monday, Jubilee candidate Aaron Cheruiyot won by a 60% margin amid reports of electoral malpractices, including bribery, stealing and threatening of voters.
