Nairobi – There was embarrassment for former President Mwai Kibaki after he aborted a speech after realizing it was an old one.
The former President was reading a speech at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi Thursday when on sensing it lacked relevance, told the listening audience that he was stopping because it was an old one.
” I have realized there is a mistake. This is an old speech. My apologies,” he said to choruses of laughter.
It is not the first time the 84 year old former President has been found in such a situation.
Back in 2013, Kibaki made the same error, that time stating that he had picked up the wrong speech when leaving home.
