Despite suggesting that Kenya will not be at Rio 2016 Olympics after the Zika virus outbreak in Brazil, Kenya’s head of athletics Kipchoge Keino has said that they will definitely be at the Olympics.
Keino revealed that he had a call someone in the USA, who also threatened to not send their athletes to Brazil, to which he denied ever insinuating that they are going to pull out.
“Somebody called me yesterday from America and said we are going to pull out,” he told reuters.com.
“I said, for what reason? If you are going to pull out then you are telling other countries to pull out like yourself. And I think the write up is about something which was not there. So we are not going to pull out, thank you.”
