Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu-PF party’s much awaited politburo meeting is expected to resume on Wednesday, despite disruption threats by some party members.

According to the state-owned Herald newspaper, Zanu-PF’s crunch meeting was expected to discuss, amongst other things, the abuse of social media by some party members.

Recent reports revealed that Zimbabwe’s war veterans intended to bar High Education Minister Jonathan Moyo from attending the politburo meeting, accusing him of fanning factionalism within the party.

Moyo has caused an uproar within Zanu-PF in the past days, with his continued use of social media to attack senior party members, like Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
