Falling Tree Crushes Cars In South Africa

Paramedics raced to the scene of an unusual emergency on Tuesday– a large tree had fallen across 8th Avenue, Durban, and crushed four cars.

Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the incident had left the entire road closed.

The avenue intersects Florida Road, a vibey street popular with Durban’s restaurant and pub set.

“We arrived at the scene and found that, while cars had been badly damaged by the falling tree, no one had been hurt,” he said.

“What caused the tree to come down is unknown at this stage,” Jamieson said.
