New youth league president calls poet Mazwai a ‘greasy panty’

The ANC’s new Youth League president Collen Maine has called poet Ntsiki Mazwai a ‘greasy panty’ according to a report.

Maine was speaking at the league’s 71st birthday celebration in Mbombela on Thursday night.

“It is the same ANC in this government that continues to champion the economic rights of women. It is the same ANC culture that will ensure the representation of the ANCYL conference that will advocate for 50% representation of women,” Maine said.

Maine’s comments come after Mazwai criticised the Youth League for failing to elect women to its leadership.

Only one woman, deputy secretary general Thandi Moraka made the cut among the few who were present at the conference which took place in Midrand.
