Nigeria: Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode urges Fashola to beg Tinubu

Former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has been advised to settle the discord between him and his former boss and national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, Punch reports.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, gave the advice following the accusations that the administration of the immediate past governor spent  N78.3m of taxpayers’ money on a personal website, www.tundefashola.com, and for spending N139m on the drilling of two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

Fani-Kayode, who was the spokesperson for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election campaign, said it is better for the former governor to make peace with his former boss before things get messier.

A report by the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency also accused Fashola of spending N175m to replace the railings of a pedestrian bridge on Carter Bridge from Ido to Idumota with concrete railings. The contract was awarded to A Abicon Engineering Limited.

Meanwhile, a group, Lagos Indigenes Network Organisation, has dissociated Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, from the scandal rocking his predecessor.
