A fresh crisis is looming in the House of Representatives, reports The Nation.
This follows moves by the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara to reduce the powers of his deputy Yussuff Lasun.
Dogora hopes to achieve this through the Ad Hoc Committee on Standing Orders he set up to review existing orders in the House.
The move to reduce the powers of Lasun is seen by many loyalists of the Deputy Speakers as part of a larger plan to reduce the influence of Lasun in the 8th House.
The underlying reason according to sources might not be unconnected with the belief that Lasun’s benefit in the Eighth House far outstrips his contributions to the Dogara project.
