The streets of Burundi’s capital, Bujumbura, has been taken over by thousands of people who are celebrating the reported power take over by military, the Associated Press news agency reports.
It says that thousands of people are celebrating a coup attempt against President Pierre Nkurunziza, who is in neighbouring Tanzania.
Thousands are moving to Independence Square.
Police are watching on the sidelines and some soldiers are giving the thumbs up sign to protesters. BBC reports
