A Gambia caught the eye in the just concluded Paris Marathon as she carried a jerry can on head while running in the race.

Siabatou Sanneh was using the opportunity to create awareness for women in Africa who travel a lot of distance just to get potable water.
Siabatou Sanneh ran at the 39th Paris Marathon carrying a a jerry can of water on her head, while holding a placard that read: ‘In Africa, women travel this distance everyday to get potable water.’

Speaking to Europe 1, the 43-year-old mother of two says she and her daughters walk eight kilometers every day with a bucket containing 20 liters of water.
She says the exhausting routine is necessary for her family to drink, cook and wash clothes.
