At least five people have been killed in multiple suicide bombings early on Monday in eastern Lebanon near the border with Syria, officials said.
A series of explosions hit the predominantly Christian village of Al Qaa, with the Lebanese national news agency saying four suicide blasts struck at 10 minute intervals.
A security source confirmed to AFP that a bomb had exploded and then “more than one suicide bombers blew themselves [up]”.
“At least eight killed including three suicide bombers, and 15 others injured,” Georges Kettaneh, the general secretary of Lebanese Red Cross, told AFP.
