Jo Judnick-Wilson was crowned the country’s new Mrs South Africa at Emperors Palace on Friday.

Roxy van Bruwaene (39) from Emalahleni is the first runner-up and Michelle Forsyth (29) from Cape Town is the second runner-up.

The mother of two, popularly known online as Jozi Mom, takes over the title from Thenjiwe Mdluli.

“I walk this path now, knowing I walk in the steps carved by greatness. It’s daunting,” Jo said in an Instagram post following her win.

As part of the Mrs South Africa program, the finalists underwent a six-month journey focused on self-development, becoming a voice of change within their communities, and showing up as the strong, influential women they are to create a positive domino effect throughout South Africa to empower women beyond just the Mrs SA platform.

1. Jo is an entrepreneur, business owner, content creator, avid photographer, founder of Build Her Tomorrow and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science.

2. The mother-of-two has been married to her husband David for sixteen years, and in her spare time she likes to be creative.

3. Jo tells Channel24 that a new challenge always inspires her, and you’ll either find her busy with a DIY project, gardening, painting or studying.

4. A trip to the bushveld is her favourite kind of “soul food,” she says.

5. Her family has always been her number one priority, and their motto is: “Life is an adventure or nothing at all.”

The selection committee that had the difficult task of selecting the new Mrs South Africa, consisted of Mrs World 2019 runner-up Matapa Maila, television presenter Dr Fez Mkhize, PR Guru Madelein Rocher, former Miss SA Tansey Coetzee, television personality Lebo Mokoena and former Mrs South Africa, Marelize Steyn-Earle.

The show was hosted by award-winning TV and radio host Pearl Modiadie and was a spectacular showcase of South African talent and beauty.
