Kenya: Why I Will Not Join Jubilee- Governor Isaac Ruto

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has said there are plans by Jubilee top officials to deny him the party ticket in the 2017 gubernatorial election.

Speaking in Bomet, Ruto said that his stand on devolution has put him in collision with Jubilee leaders who are not happy with his calls to strengthen the devolved structures.

“I am safer in the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) than in Jubilee, whose agenda is not clear. Jubilee told me that I will never get the ticket even if I win the nominations,” he said.

The abrasive Governor said that his CCM party will field candidates to vie for all elective positions.

“We will field candidates to compete with other parties for elective positions as CCM is the party that respects constitution, supports devolution and respects the will of the people,” he said.
