President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Monday travel to Luanda, Angola on an official visit.

“Uhuru will be attending the 6th Ordinary Summit of the International Conference on The Great Lakes Region,” State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu said.

He said the meeting will focus on regional peace and security, economic integration, governance, humanitarian and environmental issues.

This, he said will provide a platform for Kenya to strengthen its relationship with the 12 countries included in the ICGLR.

In a statement on Sunday, Esipisu said Uhuru will then make an official visit to Belgium at the invitation of Prime Minister Charles Michel.

“He will be in Belgium for two days during which time he is expected to hold closed-door meetings with both Michel and His Majesty King Phillipe,” he said.

Esipisu said Uhuru will also lead bilateral discussions with the Belgium government, address the Belgian Business Community and attend an EU-Africa event.

The president will then meet with the President of the European Parliament, executives of the European Investment Bank and to hold private meetings with several other corporate leaders.

“The President looks forward to strengthening Kenya’s relationship with Belgium and welcoming more investments from the Belgium business community,” Esipisu said.
