Protesters Shot During Protests Narrate Ordeal, As They Nurse Injuries In Hospital.

Protesters who were shot by anti-riot police during the CORD demos on Monday have finally spoken out.

Majority of those injured during the protests maintained that they did not participate in the demos.

In Homabay, victims say police fired teargas and shots inside their houses.

Kenyans cites the case of a lady who suffered trauma after police lobbed a teargas canister inside her house.

In Siaya, witnesses and journalists had confessed that police used live bullets, killing two protesters.

Those injured in the confrontation said police resorted to live bullets after their teargas got exhausted.

They vowed to continue with the protests on Monday and ‘fight for Raila’.

Raila Odinga who is the opposition chief has been leading protests every Monday since April 25 to push for the ouster of the electoral body (IEBC) commissioners over integrity issues.

Violence has been witnessed in the last two episodes, calling for the intervention of the religious and international bodies who condemned the police for using excessive force on protesters and urged dialogue over the matter.

On Wednesday, CORD agreed to give peace and dialogue a chance and called off next week’s demos.
