A Jubilee Coalition Governor says that the chances of DP William Ruto becoming the flag bearer for the ruling wing come 2022 are close to zero as he will not get the required support.

Meru Governor Peter Munya is of the opinion that Ruto is being duped to hand over Kalenjin votes in the 2017 elections and that a change of guard will come once President Uhuru Kenyatta steps aside.

“There is no way he will be the Jubilee flag bearer in 2022. At the moment, the unifying factor in Jubilee is President Uhuru Kenyatta and not the DP,” he said.

He added that come 2022, the field will once again be open for people to stake their claim.

“This is not a dictatorship. Those who want to vie for the Presidency in 2022 under Jubilee should do so. Five years is a long time in politics. We will see how it will go,” he added.

Munya has already said that he will vie for the Presidency come the 2022 elections after President Kenyatta’s retirement.
