The Jubilee government will rig the 2017 polls with or without a new IEBC in place, a member of parliament has claimed.
Kuresoi south MP Zakayo Cheruiyot said that Jubilee is in possession of all apparatus needed in rigging an election and nothing will stop them from doing that.
He even if the IEBC is disbanded and new commissioners brought in Jubilee will still use other government agencies to rig the polls in its favour.
Speaking Wednesday in Rongai, Cheruiyot said that the Jubilee is determined to cling to power at all costs and it will do what it can to stay in power.
“These guys cannot afford to lose the 2017 election and even if we change the IEBC they will still use agencies like the NIS to rig the polls in its favour,” said Cheruiyot.
“Jubilee is a government of thieves led by thieves and I can’t see them not stealing the election next year,” he added.
He warned the Jubilee government that it will plunge the country into chaos should it bungle the 2017 polls.
“It will be a big mistake for the Jubilee government to bungle elections next year because that will plunge the nation into something that has never been witnessed in the African continent,’’ he said.
“We don’t want the country to go back to 2007/2008 and the government must ensure this by letting the 2017 polls to be free and fair above all standards,” he added.
