ODM MPs Snub IEBC Protests.

ODM MPs have continued to snub the protests against the IEBC by party leader Raila Odinga.

The MPs, who have kept a low profile as far as the protests are concerned, are unwilling to jump into the ongoing move to protest against the IEBC as they see it as messy and lacking in direction.

Some of the MPs have even gone as far as asking CORD leader Raila Odinga to choose a different plan.

” The protests are misplaced and are just messy. They give us a bad image. People will say we are out to cause trouble and nothing else,” an MP from Western Kenya told News24 on condition he not be named.

The feeling among MPs is that the Coalition first seek dialogue and then if that does not work, move to other means to force change at the IEBC.

But that is not the route the CORD leadership is looking at, culminating in the violent protests seen in the country.

” I think that the protests are miscalculated. We can do better,” another MP told News24.

CORD leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka are the most prominent in the protests but MPs have kept their distance.

It remains to be seen whether they will support the initiative going forward.
