The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arraigned ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, in absentia.
He was arraigned at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos and presided over by Justice Mohammed Buba.
The EFCC raised a 22 count charge against the ex-militant.
It was learnt that there was no need to plead guilty or not guilty as the court assumed that he was guilty hence his decision to evade justice.
Tompolo is currently on the run and is wanted by the EFCC.
A Federal High Court had on January 14 issued a warrant for the arrest of Tompolo over his alleged refusal to appear in court to answer to the fraud charges preferred against him and others by the EFCC.
But on January 27, 2016, Tompolo filed an application before the court to set aside the said warrant of arrest and on February 8, 2016, the said application was argued and dismissed by the court, which also renewed the order.
