Nigeria: APC Asks Buhari To Fire Police IG Over River Killings

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, for his inability to protect lives and property in Rivers State.

The APC deputy national secretary, Ngofa Oji, who made the call, stated that the IGP had shown profound inefficiency in discharging his duty.

Ngofa, accused the IGP of complacency, as he stated that all the petitions written to him by the party had not received any attention.

Lamenting, on the inefficiency of the IGP to curb the killings in Rivers State, the APC Deputy National Secretary said: “These matters were reported and it shouldn’t have gotten to the point where institutions charged with the responsibility to take care of these things are doing nothing.

The acting national chairman of the party, Segun Oni had on Wednesday at a press briefing stated that the security situation in Rivers State is clearly an affront on the Federal Government’s power to protect lives and property within its territory.
