FIFA Begins Vote To Choose New President

Voting started Friday in the election for FIFA’s new president, with 207 national associations approved to cast ballots at the congress in Zurich where Sepp Blatter’s replacement will be chosen.

The four remaining candidates need a two-thirds majority to secure a first round win. If the election goes to a second round, only a simple majority of votes is needed for victory.

The field was reduced when South African tycoon Tokyo Sexwale withdrew minutes before voting began.
