Nigeria: Security Beefed Up At Aso Rock Among Terror Fears

Abuja – Security at the Presidential Villa has been reinforced following fears that terrorists might focus their targets on Aso Rock, Punch has reported.

According to a directive sent out by Bashir Abubakar, Chief Security Officer to the President, all vehicles entering the precinct, official or unofficial, are to be subjected to security checks, regardless of who they are carrying.

Abubakar also made mention of drivers in cars with tinted windows, saying that such vehicles will be thoroughly looked at, irrespective of whether drivers are security operatives or not.

The measures will form part of a precautionary directive in line with terrorist activity within the country and observations abroad.
