Benin City – Aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State have stormed the state party’s secretariat to protest the suspension of some leaders of the party in the state, reports
The suspended leaders are the party’s Chairman in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Isaac Ikhine and his counterpart in Ward 1, Esan Central Local Government Area, Isaac Ikhine.
Both were suspended for alleged anti-party activities.
The protesters described the suspension of the leaders as unconstitutional, null and void.
Chanting war songs, the protesters carried placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Say no to injustice,’ ‘Say not to godfatherism,’ ‘Chairman don’t destroy APC by yourself,’ ‘Say no to anti-party.
On sighting the protesters the state party Chairman, Anselm Ojezua and other members of the executive ran for cover to escape attack from the aggrieved members
