A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail after confessing that he raped a minor after receiving ‘vision from God.’
Peter Karite pleaded guilty to the attempted rape charges saying God had revealed in vision that the Standard Eight pupil was his future wife.
Appearing before Nyeri resident magistrate John Aringo, Kiraite said that the court ruling would not stop their marriage as God had already chosen her for him.
This was the second time Kiraite attempted to rape the 12-year-old girl, Standard reports.
